Story Behind the Song
I am SO looking forward to the day when Jesus Christ will return. I wrote this song about that day. In Jewish culture a bridegroom would offer a cup of wine to his prospective bride. If she accepted the cup, then she was in effect saying, "I'll accept your life as my life." The groom was saying, "I love you, I will give even my life for you." And so the significance at the Lord's supper is the same for us. The Lord is saying, "I love you. And I DID give my life for you. Will you accept my love?"
When we take and drink the cup we are saying, "Yes, I will be your spiritual bride. I accept Your love for me." Little did I realize that the marriage feast in heaven will be so personal. I was ready for my own personal mansion on a hilltop. Instead the dwelling places will all be attached to the Father's house. It WILL be one big happy family for those found in faith. (Better start getting along now right?)

Lyrics
Way, Way Up in the Sky
G C
One day I hear it wonÕt be very long,
G
Could be while I’m singing this very song.
C
The Lord I know He’s coming very soon,
G
May be on a full and crystal moon.
Am7 Bm7
In the twinkling of an eye,
C D G
He’s gonna lift us way, way up to the sky.
When the road you travel never seems to end,
Take a little faith and comfort my dear friend.
Lift your burden to the One who really knows,
When it’s hard that’s when your faith can grow.
In the twinkling of an eye,
He’s gonna lift us way, way up to the sky.
Bb C2 G
Oh heaven’s gonna be for you and me,
Bb C2 G
Heaven’s gonna be for eternity.
Until the day we know the Lord will return,
He will carry us and all of our concerns.
Don’t you worry when your heart feels all alone,
The Son of God He’s made your heavenly home,
