A simple, catchy melody, with a very clever lyric:
'We stole today right out of the hands of a world that thought we were at its command, We took our 24 hours and wandered away - sharing our Stolen Day'.
Two drifters off to see the world - two musicians singing about it. This song could easily top the charts, with a melody and lyrics to make you smile and dance round the room! |

Story Behind the Song
Two people decide one day, to step off the conveyor belt and take life the way they want it. And when it's done, it's a memory that will enhance life forever !
Written and recorded in three days, in Manchester England, February 2002. The flute was all done in the first take - which was good because the room we recorded in was pretty cramped and grungy!
Lyrics
We stole today right out of the hands
Of a world that thought we were at its
command
We took our 24 hours and wandered away
Sharing our stolen day
We made a few phone calls we made some excuses
Our talent for stories has practical uses
And then we decided the games we were gong to play
Sharing our stolen day
And all around the day ran wild
We slowed down - then we smiled
We drowned our sorrows, dried our tears
And felt the way we'd wanted to for years
The world we knew was just too hyperactive
But here all the options were very attractive
I know when I'm there
'Cause I don't have to care what I say
Sharing our stolen day
The wind blows high the wind blows low
Don't ask me why, it's always so
We served our time, paid our dues
And crossed the line with nothing at all to lose
We stole today right out of the hands
Of a world that thought we were under
command
We took our 24 hours and wandered away
Sharing our stolen day
