Story Behind the Song
Wrote this while travelling down the freeway. The words just started to flow and was finished within 2 days. Recorded in my home studio. I pray that it opens up everyones eyes to the lost around us. Special thanks you to Teresa Erickson for b.g.'s
Lyrics
He was standing at the throne of God, not knowing where he was,
Or how he'd even gotten to that place.
As he gazed upon His holiness, he heard Him call his name.
"You're not written in the Book of Life, I don't recognize your face".
He had no idea what was meant, by these words which He had spoke,
But a multitude of angels wept, and then the Book was closed.
When he next became aware, all of the glory now was gone,
And in it's place, dark clouds of fear, now filled his empty heart.
For before him was an endless waste, of lost souls, bound in shame,
Their anguished cries would never cease, his own joined their refrain.
Crying . . .
Chorus No one ever told me about You,
No one ever said that all the words You spoke were true,
No one ever told me, no one ever told me,
No one ever told me about You.
She was standing at the throne of God, she knew just where she stood,
She was sure of her reward for doing good.
Then as she looked upon His holiness, a tear came to her eye.
For He gazed on her, with the saddest face,
'Till she broke down and cried.
"Though you think you tried to do your best", He said,
"To do what you felt was right,
You were never ever close to Me,
You walked by your own light."
"Though you prophesied and healed the sick,
In My name, these things you did,
But you never ever asked Me in, or did My Father's will."
And she cried . . .
