Story Behind the Song
This song touches a couple levels.
First, when we are physically born, we are born into sin, or death; basically we are spiritually stillborn.
Secondlly, sometimes people will launch into a ministry, perhaps under the impression that it is God's will. Maybe that is because it comes naturally to them, or what ever. I think, from a Biblical perspective, God usually puts people in ministries that that are not equiped to deal with on their own. This emphasizes and magnifies that persons need to be reliant on God to complete the mission set before them.
This is the second theme of the song. That we should be careful to make sure that the ministries we work in are born of God. Or else these ministries will be stillborn.
Lyrics
Silvering shadows,
the dance ofthe capering tongues of fire.
Loosen the viel in front of this child's eyes.
Make quick in me the reason,
quicken me to understand your heart.
Deliver me from the stuff that blinds me.
(Chorus 1)
Breech the walls around me.
Occupy the void that's been left behind.
Clear away the remains of the evicted.
Clean the spect form my eye.
Silvering shadows.
(I'm) an example of your mercy, but
not yet an example unto the flock.
Make quick in me the reason.
Quicken me to understand your heart.
Deliver me to the hands that guide me.
(Chorus 2)
Breech the walls around me.
Occupy the void that's been left behind.
Steal away the tank of conviction.
Let me be sensative to your love.
(bridge)
It still hurts, this stillbirth.
Bring the life back, born me again.
Start over, feed the fire.
I'll try it again, I'll see it through.
It still hurts, this stillbirth.
Bring the life back, born me again.
Start over, I'' see it through.
Chorus 2.
