The beginning of the watchword of our faith, and the daily prayers; from D'varim (Deuteronomy) 6:4.
    Credits: Elohim, D'varim

    Story Behind the Song
This prayer declares the oneness of the One and only G-d in all existance, the G-d of Yisra'el. It is probable Y'shua (Jesus) Himself prayed this, as it is part of the Torah of which he quoted Himself, and read from. This prayer is part of the daily life of Yehudim, and Synogogue worship service. Actually it is only the beginning section of the Shema as a whole which includes D'varim 6:4-9, 11:13-21 and B'Mid'bar (Numbers) 15:37-41

    Lyrics
    Shema Yisra'el Adonai Elohenu Adonai echad. Baruch Shem k'vod mal'chuto l'olam va'ed.

Hear O Israel the L-rd our G-d, the L-rd alone (is one). Blessed be His glorious Name Whose kingdom is forever and ever.
