    Story Behind the Song
The lyrics were written by Troy Donoughue, and are about a guy who loses his eyesight suddenly, and it drives him mad. I was overwhelmed by the story, so I went home, and started writing music for it.

Troy had originally planned for this to be a heavy metal guitar track, and was very surprised when I showed up with an orchestral piece. On the other hand, I was surprised that Troy had written song lyrics that were so dark and depressing, yet still fictional.

Overall, I think the music isn't as dark as the words, and that keeps the song from falling completely into the morose.

    Lyrics
    Final Eyes
    (Troy Donoughue / Doodle)

    Verse 1
Depressed and aggravated, he's lost his sanity
A lonely man, no longer gives a damn about his needs
Anger is his hatred, hatred is all he sees
The color black is all he attracts to his mortality

    Chorus
No he never saw it coming, no he never would have seen
Final eyes, Final Eyes, no longer can he see

    Verse 2
Torn inside and ruined, the cries of disbelief
He won't accept, he only rejects, the truth, his pain, his grief
Living in his own Hell, so dark emotionally
The pain inside is where he subsides, so deep internally

    Chorus
No he never saw it coming, no he never would have seen
Final eyes, Final Eyes, no longer can he see

    Break
    Verse 3
No he never saw it coming, no he never would have seen
His own demise of his own two eyes, a vicious living dream

    Chorus
No he never saw it coming, no he never would have seen
Final eyes, Final Eyes, no longer can he see
Final eyes, Final Eyes, the end of what used to be
