    Story Behind the Song
Dont Let Them Die is a song that was written under very unusual circumstances. In the spring of 2001 at a MADD (MothersAgainsDrunkDriving) youth leadership camp, 16 year Joe Nemchik collaborated with English teacher Steve Sweeney in the writing of a message song about drinking & driving. The lyrical expression of Joe combined with the musical talent of Steve to paint a timeless musical picture of one of life’s deadliest challenges.

    Lyrics
    Time Ill spend watching PSAS
    and drivers Ed. Movies.
Time Ill spend pretending to care
That you may just crash off this earth tonight.

Time to change might be later
All I see right now are empty beer cans on the carpet.
    Liquor bottles broken, shattered
    On the roadside.

    Dont let them die
Dont let one more friend say goodbye
    Dont let their love drive
    Dont let them die

Help me to change things just for now.
If I cant take your keys,
Ill have to wait for you to die.
    One more drunken driver,
    All alone and dead.

Protect my loved ones from themselves,
    Move them from their bottles.
God help the ones who need love now,
    Theyll leave me all alone.

    Dont let them die
Dont let one more friend say goodbye
    Dont let their love drive
    Dont let them die

    Dont let them die
Dont let one more friend say goodbye
    Dont let their love drive
    Dont let them die
    Dont let them die
