    Story Behind the Song
this song is about mankind's long history of war and heartache. it is a very breif compar-and-contrast between "Cane and abel" and "Armageddon." dust to dust paints a haunting picture of the terestrial battlefield of time, and begs the obvious question "TO WHAT END?". i've tried to give the listner, in this song, a breif glimpse into the veiwpoint of God on war.

    Lyrics
    Dust to Dust

    Am I my brother’s keeper? - Am I m father’s son?
And does our dear God mourn us
    Every time the sparrow falls?
Aren’t we all one flesh? - Aren’t we all from one blood?
Do I kill a part of myself every time I pull the trigger?

If the blood of Abel cries out,
Then how loud the battle field,
    When every thing is silent,
The only motion that of heaven’s bitter tears.

Where are you going in such a desperate hurry?
“To the field of Armageddon,” you said.
And as the crow flies, enter the arena:
The culmination of your life’s philosophy and training.

    Bridge:
And I looked out, and I saw
Where the sons of men drew their swords
And fell upon the sons of God.
And I wept aloud for that black day.
And I opened up my eyes in time
To see the ashes blow away…

    Chorus/chant:
Time has passes but nothing’s changed
    Only dust was rearranged
