Story Behind the Song
I have friends in NYC. I live less than 100 miles from the hole the 4th plane made in the Pennsylvania countryside. I had to write this song.
Lyrics
Still Standing
(Sept 14, 2001)
You can put me in a corner, push my back against the wall,
You can beat me till I'm bloody, but you cannot make me fall,
I'm still standing.
I saw planes fall in the morning, I saw smoke against, the sky,
I saw Death strike without warning, despite the bitter tears I cried,
I'm still standing.
There's a time for peace, they tell me; I know there's a time for war.
When I saw my brothers dying, I knew what we're fighting for
While we're still standing.
You can put us in a corner, push our backs against the wall.
You can beat us till we bloody, but you cannot make us fall,
We're still standing.
