	Story Behind the Song This song was written in 1988 in New Street Station, Birmingham. The lyrics were written in 10 minutes waiting for a train. It was recorded in one live take and two additional tracks in 2001 for the albumn An Incurable Romantic. It is performed by D. Ward of Maeran (w~w). It is one of our favourites because of the moody and moving guitar solo and the poignant message it portrays. Lyrics Verse 1: Ten thousand soldiers as they march their way to war. Tommorow's heroes, what the hell are we fighting for? Yesterday's workers, out to embrace a battle cry, But in valour and in ignorance they die Verse 2: Glorious victims, simply gone without a trace And the survivors wipe to blood from off their face.
