	Story Behind the Song The song comes from an old folk story about a man who becomes rich and loses everything he ever had. Lonely Man was written while we were still playing in a dormitory basement. It was our first real attempt at an entire band colaboration. Stephen solos through the verses and Bryan through the Choruses. Karl and Mike worked together on the lyrics. Bryan finished the song in the studio with addition of piano.
