Story Behind the Song
Shatterday started out as a contrafact of another tune. The melody was actually an accidental collision of two ideas from different tracks. After I had the melody, I looked out the window, and improvised the center section as the light faded in one take. The only light left at the end was the turquoise glow from the keyboard's display.
