| Story Behind the Song
Written to an old room mate when I lived in Oklahoma many years ago. He was annoyingly critical of my mates and I practicing our tunes. Originally written in 1981, final adjustments made in 2001. Song was recorded at Final Mix, Campbell, CA.
LyricsWhy do I continue the masquerade?
If its true all these things that you say,
I am finished even before I begin to play,
 Is it true?

Tell me what makes you such a precisian,
And gives you the right to sight where I stand,
 Huh?

Is it that your life is so right and correct?
That you feel its your deal,
 To steal and not fret,
 To conceal the real,
And you claim that its me who is all wet.

 Woo
 How do you sleep?
How do you sleep at night?
 Instrumental break

 Pickin up a grudge,
You feel you are the judge,
But you are not the truth,
But you are still in your youth,
 You can change
 You can change
 You can change
 You can change
 You can change

Why do I continue the masquerade?
If its true all these things that you say,
I am finished even before I begin to play,
 Is it true?
