    Story Behind the Song
A western tale of a Farmer, his Daughter and star crossed lovers...

    Lyrics
    Lyrics: Erik

    Desert sand is hot
    And the sky is hotter.
And men would die for a drink of water
    And one such drink
    Was the farmers daughter
Since he would kill any man who sought her

And her dad was about seven feet tall
Mean as hell and built like a brick wall
Had a sawed off long as my left arm
Muthaf**ker used the thing as a side arm

He was mean and fast like a rattlesnake
Even scorpions got outta his way
Lookin wrong at his girl would seal your fate
Put their heads in a pile by his back gate

But once a month if the sun wasnt too high
He would take his little girl for a short ride
They would ride into town by the back way
She would shop and he would get a shave

I would watch from the roof as they rode by
I would wave when I knew I could catch her eye
While he was sitting down to have a shave
We would sneak in the back room and misbehave

Until one day when everything changed
Farmer thought that he didnt really need a shave
But he stopped by the barber shop anyway
Only this time he came in by the back way

And what he saw when he pushed open the door
Was his little girl on her knees down on the floor
He pulled his gun with a loud roar
The barber moved faster than he ever moved before

Bastardo! he roared as I ran
chasing me as I ran unclad
Turn around and face me like a man!
I just screamed and hid behind the church man

Tomorrow noon when the sun is high,
we will meet and you will die.
If noon comes and you are not thereā€¦
You will not hide from me anywhere

High noon on that fateful day
Farmer and barber face to face
Sweat glistened on the barbers brow
Nothing on the farmers but an angry frown

The barber blinked and the farmers gun
Spat fire in the blazing sun
The farmers daughter jumped in the way
And so instead stole the barbers fate

The farmer stood with his heart full of dread
Stood and started at his baby girl
The barber put a bullet in the farmers head
And left them both in a pool of red

I rode away to the dead mans land
Meaning to end my life by my own hand
But for reasons I cannot understand
Stayed to tell my tale to each passing man
