Story Behind the Song
I, like all people around the world, sat in front on my television on Sept. 11th and watched as the story unfolded. Almost not being able to believe what I was seeing and feeling so badly for the families and friends, of the people whom had lost their lives on that day. It came to me, it is like when you know someone, who has lost someone, there is never anything you can say or do to make them feel better. You can only let them know that you are there for them, your listening to them, and you feel the pain they are going through. Only time will heal. No one will ever forget that day.
Knowing how I felt and knowing there must be a lot of people who feel the same way. I wrote the song, Tears Like Rain.
Lyrics
New York City, we feel your pain.
Wondering if you'll be the same.
I heard the news. It's hard to believe.
I've seen the pictures, I can't conceive.
Mass confusion in my mind.
So many people lost of every kind.
How could this happen? How could this be?
Do they envy, that we are free?
Chorus:
Where do you go from here?
So many crying, so many tears.
Let the world know all of your pain.
We're all crying, tears like rain.
They can cut you and you will bleed.
Can't touch your sprit, in your soul is a seed.
Take that seed and plant it deep.
We will water it with tears that we weep.
The world is with you. You're not alone.
We'll protect the seed, until it's grown.
Yes there's hope in out of the rain.
The sun will rise. You won't forget the pain.
Chorus:
Where do you go from here?
So many crying, so many tears.
Let the world know all of your pain.
We're all crying, tears like rain.
Yes there is hope. It's hard to believe.
Take the time you need to grieve.
We'll be watching your seed grow.
Heaven's crying don't you know.
End:
Where do we go from here?
So many crying, so many tears.
Let the world know all of your pain.
When you're ready come out of the rain.
