	Story Behind the Song No one is born as a parent. We are kids first. My parents taught me responsibility, but I didn't really taste it until I got married and had bills to pay. I didn't learn to think like a parent until I had a kid, so kids have got to back off for a second and realize that this parent thing isn't from medication or some self-help class that everyone is required to take in college. The song that did not appear on this album was similar: "Parents are people, too" which was a soft lilting 3/4 ballad that has a mom reflecting on her high school prom. In this song, we picked instead an upbeat, sometimes humorous reminder of the journey to parenthood that folks have got to go through. Lyrics Two independent people That love brought together.
