Well this song is definately "old School". I took all my Maiden influences, as well as AC/DC and sort of melted them into this tune. I kind of dig the droning bass riff during the Verses.

    Story Behind the Song
The motivation behind this song came from my anger at work. You know doing the same thing, putting up with asshole supervisors, and dealing with lazy ass co-workers. Having just a dark cynical out look on life because of the enviroment you are forced to work in day in and day out. I got home one day and played my guitar to unwind, and out came the riff.

    Lyrics
    The Fallen

Yes, I know what you mean.
Yes, I can hear what you say.
    Every word that you pray,
Can make the grass grow green.
I’m just trapped in a mirror.
I can see, can you see me?
    Withering in my mind.
All those things that I hear.

    I’m falling into this well,
I’m falling deep and dark in covers my soul.
    A final breath to take
    A final night to rest

The pain that shrouds my soul.
The evil words I hear all the time.
    Bearing witness to…
The fallen angels they’re coming near
I’m just lost in a dark room.
I can’t see, show me the light
    Silent pain this endless weight
Bears a burden on my heart.

    I’m falling into this well,
I’m falling deep and dark in covers my soul.
    A final breath to take
    A final night to rest

I keep taking things to far.
Sometimes I just need to scream.
    I can’t keep on suffering.
These things aren’t as bad as they seem.

A soft word is slowly spoken.
    A shoulder to lean on.
    Quiet moments ease the pain
I can see the light again.
