    Story Behind the Song
    On the subject of Brindisi
    An ideological travel in time

Imagine that you get up an early morning just before dawn and suddenly you are pushed more than 50 years back in time. Dressed in a bird slough you start a flight across Europe beginning in Copenhagen ending in the southern Italian seaport Brindisi. As you cross the boarders of the different countries, several notorious ideologies' fatal and heartless historical facts blow into your face.

Geographically the travel goes through Germany, Austria with a minor digression to Spain. Then down through Italy with rendezvous in Brindisi (a cosy seaport that in ancient times was kind of a gate to the Mediterranean and Africa). On the journey you are exposed to a handful of -isms that had a grave influence on mankind.

Finally the song is a loud warning not to forget what zealous ideologies can cause. Even though it's only 50 years ago an inhuman gruesome -ism capsized great parts of Europe it still appears along with other cuckoos in the nest. People remember the big headlines of wars but the big headlines mask the source of the tragedies.

History is like a waterfall. It's impossible to freeze and contemplate phenomena before they are floated with the stream. New subjects appear and the ones that passed you a moment ago are easily forgotten or slipped on the memory. You are a part of history and helplessly floating with the stream with only a minimal chance to change things ... why shouldn't we try?

Chased by the waterfall No one can hear you call Watching the setting sun The retrospective travel has been done

    Lyrics
    Brindisi

    Backwards by morninglight
    Waywards will be in sight
Visions are changing as landscapes roll by
Is it all worth it to even ask why

Turn the stones just to see
    Fragments of history

    Green covered walley fields
    Now it seams so unreal
Lunatic outlooks progressed in this place
Still it lives on amongst Gods human race

    Turn the bones in tierty
    Fragments of misery

    Like chasing a waterfall
    Memories you can recall
To find out what's right from wrong
    The retrospective travel has begun

    Chasing the waterfall
    Facts floated once for all
    Surprised by another dawn
    The retrospective travel carries on

    As we draw nearer not
    To disappear but to stay
Ran de vous comes into wiev
Port Brindisi will be the final clue

    Remember and forget
An - ism will rear it's head
And just when it seams to be gone
It will return - ten times as strong

    Chased by the waterfall
No one can hear you call
    Watching the setting sun
The retrospective travel has been done

    So it became
    Visdom unchanged
    Old knowledge comes to hand.........
