Trio, electric guitar, bass & drums. This is my humble tribute to a guitarist I consider to be one of the greatest innovators of technique on the instrument to have ever lived, Lenny Breau. Solo guitar until 1:28 into the song. | MP3.com CD: The Last Electric Guitar MP3CD - buy it!

Story Behind the Song
I first heard Lenny in about 1969, when a close friend gave me one of his early live albums. He was taking this genius's place in the Anne Murray band. What was a jazz genius doing playing in a country/folk pop band? Granted Ms Murray is/was a great vo calist, but it seems so incongruous. Well folks, we all gotta make a living, and that's what he was doing until he could launch a successful solo career. Besides, Lenny started out playing country and emulating HIS idol Chet Atkins, for whom he named h i s son. I was messing around with some of his techniques for years, and recently came into possession of the Paul Bourdeau video of his investigation into Lenny's style. Well, suddenly things began to make sense. I've mastered a few new things and ad d ed some of my own stuff, but still have a long way to go to reach Lenny's astronomical heights. But, the journey is SO much fun! Enjoy it, please.
