The phone rings and a voice that you thought you would never hear again is in your ear and in your head. Suddenly, all the old forgotten memories come flooding back and that mystery tatooed spider, once again, controls your heart.

    Story Behind the Song
I remember that Sunday afternoon when the phone rang and I said hello and from the other end of the line came a voice that I had thought I would never hear again. It's funny how suddenly your life can change because of a single event. That phone call and the very pleasant conversation that we had, may develope into something more, but, even if it's not destined to be, that event caused a surprising shift in my writing direction and presented me with several new songs. Thank you, Shirley

    Lyrics
    Eyes Of Smoke And Fire
    Verse 1

A voice from out of the past, a call so unexpected
Defining moment of truth that turns your life around
Long forgotten memories you thought were finally over
Quickly remind you that your life's on shakey ground

    Chorus

EYES OF SMOKE AND FIRE, give me peace, release my soul
Mystery tatooed spider, it's my destiny you hold
If my time is over let me end it in your arms
EYES OF SMOKE AND FIRE, I surrender to your charms

    Verse 2

Life has a way of surprising, takes you in a new direction
Reality fades away and you start to sweat
Is her image for real or is my mind only dreamin'
If I roll the dice will I come out second best

    Chorus

EYES OF SMOKE AND FIRE, give me peace, release my soul
Mystery tatooed spider, it's my destiny you hold
If my time is over let me end it in your arms
EYES OF SMOKE AND FIRE, I surrender, I surrender to your charms
    ....yeah, yeah.....(Inst)

    Bridge

As I face the west the sun is slowly dyin'
Can I stand the test, her memory holds the key
When the sun returns I'll face the only answer
After smoke and fire there'll be no one left but me

    Verse 3

Baby, you know that I want you, you always get my attention
You just make it so hard to remember to forget
And the way that we kiss and touch will last forever
Cause, I remember now, you're the best I've ever met

    Chorus

EYES OF SMOKE AND FIRE, give me peace, release my soul
Mystery tatooed spider, it's my destiny you hold
If my time is over let me end it in your arms
EYES OF SMOKE AND FIRE, I surrender to your charms

    Outro

EYES OF SMOKE AND FIRE, release my soul
Free me from your spider, let my destiny unfold
If my time is over let me end it in your arms
EYES OF SMOKE AND FIRE, I surrender to your charms
    Yeah, I surrender,...baby, I surrender.....tonight!
    ............................Yeah!
