Story Behind the Song
This was the first song I wrote for Cari (the subject of the song 'Having You Here'). I wrote it while she was away from me for the first time in our relationship. She was in AZ with her mom, and it was during this time that events occured that ultimately altered both our lives. Though something wonderful came from it, the end of our relationship came from it as well. Now the song fills a void in my life that she once occupied. Despite the upbeat tempo to the song, and the opptamisstic view of the words, this song itself is proof that uncoditional love, understanding, and compassion lose out to financial security. Guess that's the begining our new area.
Lyrics
I find myself alone,
it seems forever that you've been gone.
And how I feel is how I am.
I try to live, but don't think I can.
I want to kiss you, good night.
I want to hold you, so tight.
All I need and want is you.
I miss you in everything I do.
Heaven's the bed in which we lay,
and I'm in Hell when ever you're away.
I want to kiss you, good night.
I want to hold you, so tight.
I want to kiss you, good night.
I want to hold you, so tight.
I find myself beside the phone.
I call and call, but no ones ever home.
How much grief must I endore?
Before I hear you knocking at my door.
I want to kiss you, good night.
I want to hold you, so tight.
I want to kiss you, Tonight.
I want to hold you, Tonight.
I want to kiss you, good night.
I want to hold you, so tight.
