Story Behind the Song
While in shock from the days events, I spent over 8 hours, until early the next morning, writing this song. After e-mailings and having the song featured on local radio show "Genre", I burned a copy on CD and started taking donations for it to send for the Red Cross Disaster Relief. Over 100 copies were burned, $400 dollars raised and ALL money went to the Red Cross!
Lyrics
I watched our world go up in flames today
I felt the tears fall like rain
Millions of people,
Brothers, sisters of mine
Looking for answers to these times
I wonder if she ever knew
That being a hero for me and you
Meant being brought against
Her last day of days
Where only a rainbow can find the way
Red, White, and Blue stand proud
Red, White, and Blue feet planted
Firmly on the ground
Red, White, and Blue they don't run
Red, White, and Blue we are one
I watched the world wait in silence
I felt my heart pound away
Looking for hope and comfort
Something to hold on to
What can I do for?
Red, White, and Blue stand proud
Red, White, and Blue feet planted
Firmly on the ground
Red, White, and Blue they don't run
Red, White, and Blue we are one
I watch my daughter smile,
I know about tomorrow
As my son looks up and says, Oh no!
Kids are running, a cloud of smoke appears
A price for freedomw rings clear
Red, White, and Blue stand proud
Red, White, and Blue feet planted
Firmly on the ground
Red, White, and Blue they don't run
Red, White, and Blue we are one
