A controversial 1988 Crazed Bunnyz tune that talks about racism in very frank terms. This tune offended many who had been tuning into the Contemporary Christian band's light-hearted hard-core message. We were blacklisted then and even now, MP3 won't allow me to post the real title of the song. Well, when you get to the part about "no niggers", you'll know the real title. I guess they don't have censoring tools built in everywhere.

    Story Behind the Song
My ex-fiancee' Mickey was the source of the angst - her parents were against us from the beginning, though her dad treated me kindly on the set of the 1986 Country Music Awards. It made no sense.

    Lyrics
Excuse me for a moment, I'd like to rant and rave about something really stupid,
you, I'm talking to you, I hope you're not guilty of
    something really stupid

I love this girl and she loves me
    it's not a crime I know
because I'm black, we cannot date
    her parents just said "NO!"

    CHORUS

I wanna scream so God can hear me
I'm on a burn, don't even come near me
they're justified in a tiny mind
you wanna be a bigot, there's lots of your kind
I wanna scream so God can hear me
I'm on a burn, don't even come near me

Good God, I thought it was over
    don't people ever change because
    we still judge the nation
we worked so hard for where we are
did Martin Luther King die in vain?
because we still judge the nation

you try to pawn it off on personal stuff
    but you just can't ignore
so don't hide it away, get a sign that says
"NO NIGGERS!" and put it on your door!

    CHORUS

I wanna scream so God can hear me
I'm on a burn, don't even come near me
they're justified in a tiny mind
you wanna be a bigot, there's lots of your kind
I wanna scream so God can hear me
I'm on a burn, don't even come near me

I sit in front of the bus
    I've got white friends
I don't even like rap music
    I CAN'T PLAY BASKETBALL

you smile at the blacks who sell you cars
you pay them to bring you water
because you get what you want
but you discriminate, you bloody hypocrite
because I wanna date your daughter
and that's not what you want

I'll live with it, they tell me so
I guess I'll have to try
    but God don't honor bigotry
think of that before you die

    CHORUS

I wanna scream so God can hear me
I'm on a burn, don't even come near me
they're justified in a tiny mind
you wanna be a bigot, there's lots of your kind
I wanna scream so God can hear me
I'm on a burn, don't even come near me

why don't you just go and join the KKK or something?
but you just wait 'till the day of reckoning
