Light upbeat bossa nova with inspirational, but playful lyrics. The message is in the title. Myro's unusual funky singing style nicely complemented by Guenevere's stright-ahead sweet voice. The rhythm section, guided by Myro's signature flowing and lush Spanish classical guitar chords, provides a great bossa nova base with perfect pulsing
tenor sax embellishment by Steve Wolfe. |

Story Behind the Song
Myro says, "I thank God for the music and lyrics he sends me. The lyrics for this song were truly a godsend. I've been singing them to myself for thirty years. And it has worked: I'm still here: still serving my god, my muse." Finally all those painful discouraging years of battling with the music industry seemed to take on new meaning for me when an acquaintance told me that her depressed brother listened to this song; and that was the turning point for him in terms of getting his life back on track."
Lyrics
Someday soon your turn will come.
You'll get to do what must be done.
So why don't you just hold on a little longer?
You've got the touch. You cast a spell.
So throw all your pennies in the wishing well.
and why don't you just hold on a little longer?
Don't you jump ship, child.
Don't you jump ship.
You've got no choice. What can you do?
Someone's gotta do it and it must be you.
So why don't you just hold on a little longer?
When the road is rough and traffic slow,
the sign says, "WAIT" before you go.
So why don't you just hold on a little longer?
When the mood is low, lift your spirit high.
Turn the other cheek. Let the teardrops dry.
And why don't you just hold on a little longer?
Just let your sharksin suit and your bossa nova tie,
those alligator shoes lift your spirit high.
And why don't you just hold on a little longer?
Tomorrow may be your turn.
Hold On!
