Story Behind the Song
Written for our friend, brother in the Lord and co-musician Charles Davis, who passed away January 2001.
Lyrics
Brothers in the Battle
Marching on to war.
Brother to brother
We know what we're fightin' for.
Brothers in the Battle
But, the Battle is the Lord's
Brother to brother
The victory is ours.
We join our hands to labor in the harvest fields so white.
We join our hearts to harbor everything we know is right.
Our spirits work together in perfect unity,
We see the battle is the Lord's, for He gives the victory!
The struggle has it ups and downs, that's why it's called a fight.
Principalities and Powers, wrong against right.
When the Battle becomes to rough for you, You'll know the burden's not yours.
You'll know your brother's beside you, and the Battle is the Lord's.
In the final battle when Satan thinks he's won.
We'll close our eyes, lay down our lives and know our work is done.
Then sing the song of victory, for the Battle has been won.
Brothers in the Battle,
Victory has come, it has come!
