This, to me, is a healing song. I like the traditional version as well, but I wanted to add a little bit of myself to it, and so here it is. (You may click the song title of any of these songs to read the lyrics and song stories) | MP3.com CD: Dreams for the Broken - buy it!

Story Behind the Song
(Feb 27, 2002) I felt compelled to record this song, it was almost a nagging feeling actually, as if someone out there just needed to hear it. My timing is terrible, and a button on my shirt hits the guitar every so often, making a popping sound... but I never claim that any of my songs are perfect. They're simply here. Anyway, I hope that someone out there finds some meaning within this song. This is traditionally a bluegrass song, I guess I have changed that a little bit. Lyrics
Some glad morning when this life is over
I will fly away
to a home in that sky where angels fly
I will fly away
I will fly away, Oh Glory
I'll fly away in the morning
When I die I will spread my wings and fly
I'll fly away
I will fly away, oh Glory
I'll fly away
to a home in that sky where angels fly
I will fly away
When the shadows of this life
have gone away
I'll fly away
Like a bird, from her prison she has flown
I'll fly away just like that, too
Baby I'll fly away
I will fly to a place where everyone is free
I'll fly away
No more pain, no more wars and no more grief
I will fly away
I will fly away, Oh glory
I will fly away in the morning
When I die I will spread my wings and fly
I'll fly away
I'll fly away
I will fly away
I will fly away
