	Story Behind the Song The title, Solar Flares, is not intended to suggest anything other-worldly of the track. It's actually a reference to all of the technical setbacks which plagued this version of the track. After doing all of the normal songwriting routine and preparation to record, my sequences on the Korg EA-1, patches and all, wiped themselves from memory. Worse than that, when the patches and sequences were re-created to the best of my memory an it was time to record, the CD burner and tape deck both decided not to work. The power supply on the Cakewalk Pro Audio machine is hosed so there's no direct-to-hard-disk recording either. After going to work for 9-and-a-half hours and forgetting where I was going with the original track, I recorded this demo version between 3:00 and 6:00am. The production is way off from where I'd like it to be and the sequencing is all pattern-based and manipulated realtime; no song layout, just off-the-cuff tinkering. So, the track as it stands in its demo form was created more to spite the technical setbacks than to satisfy my actual creative desires. Maybe the wrong reason for creating in the first place, but hey, motivation is where you find it. I blame the solar flares.
