Story Behind the Song
This one showed up around the second or third practice and was agreed upond to be one of the better outcomes of those horrific early days. we didn't have a working tape recorder the first time we played it so that's al on videotape. The lyrics are just typical teenage atheistic pandering that are kinda trite, but still relevant questions when considered today. where is god when you're bleeding? and as far as capturing a moment of my life, this song has that written all over it in spades.
Lyrics
I wont search the dessert for one hunded thousand years
for someone responsible for 50 billion tears
no, i'll never die on that cross for you
no, I wont live how you want me too
I've seen the truth just by hearing your lies
there's nothing when you live and nothing when you die
I believe the reason I'm here is to enjoy life
I don't care if in your mind that makes me the antichrist
I bow to nothing and say a little prayer
I ask your help but nobody's there
your morals, virtues, and hypocrisy
are just views with which I cannot agree
so have fun trying to make me feel guilty
you're so set in your ways you'll never understand me
have fun forcing me to agree
but I'm not another clone who will sit back and believe
I bow to nothing and say a little prayer
I ask your help but nobody's there
your morals, virtues, and hypocrisy
are just more forms of a bullshit philosophy
where is God when you need him?
where is God when you're bleeding?
where is God when they rape you?
where is God when they break you?
oh, you're the leader of this "great society"
you speak your voice and all must agree
"love everything" when everything is shit?
apperantly that's the way he wants it
