Story Behind the Song
with lyrical content this song is envisioned to be about being a modern day outlaw, but in a trancedental way. Some outlaws like, Bonnie and Clyde, represented MORE than just robbing banks. their story and love for each other transcended the crime. More important oulaws in my opinon, are those of the black revoutionary/civil rights movement. A black panther starring down police in riot gear were ready to break the LAW to MAKE the law better. They transcended from just the typical angry Negro to personify the spirit of the disenfranchised.
we need more "criminals" like that. If you are being rowdy, and wilding out just to cause trouble or to be like the n*gga on the last RAP cd you heard you need to be checked.
but if you're criminal for a reason...that's another story. whatever happened to the revolutionaries because when you walk down the streets of South Central LA and see crackheads begging for a dollar you know there needs to be change SOMEWHERE...and most of these rappers that make it are content to serve up platinum gems for record label execs, while their people are getting beat down harder everyday.
On a final note: The solution to crime isn't stopping the criminials, the solutions is stopping the CAUSE of the criminal's actions.
