Story Behind the Song
This song is about the time I spent in Italy.
It's clips of memories, from the beauty of the countryside to the simple everyday experiences...like sitting in a cafe.
Some of the words are a little difficult to understand...That's because
they're in Italian or refer to Italian landmarks.
Other words are difficult to understand just cause of my pronunciation...
I'm speaking English when I say, "rubberband right back"
Lyrics
Brilliant sunrise, Fascination sparks,
It's gonna be a goodday.
Duomo silhouette over my balcony, and mornin's callin me.
Shadows urgin' light across those cafe walls,
I take my coffee black: Like my coffee black.
"Mornin, blu eyes,"
"Mornin, sweetheart," you rubberband right back.
Cypress green, little lean queens curtsy the hillside.
Forward my best foot, I'll make my way...
Think I'll go and play about that hillside.
Ridin miles o' wine country, purple lips,
I take my vino red: Like my wine red.
"Here's to you, blu eyes,"
"No, No...here's to you, sweetheart."
"Hell, here's to us instead." "Here's to here instead."
This place is oh, so delicious.
Eat this mountain, drink this fountain,
Spread the sunset on my toast.
Think I'll stay out all night by the River Arno,
Singin Joni, whistlin' Dixie, smokin Marlboro.
Whaddya know, sun's comin' back around...
"Mornin, blu eyes,"
"Buon Giorno, Sweetheart," it rubberbands right back.
Throwin stones off Rialto Bridge, white emporer of Venice.
And I'm findin it hard findin my way home,
'Cause I rubberband right bac
