Hard driving uptempo foundation with a contiunous melodic theme. Then the chorus explodes through your speakers. This one is food for thought.

    CD: No Smoking!
Credits: Music and Lyrics by Jeff Johnson and Curt Granger. Produced by Curt Granger. Recorded at Blue Nite Recorders, Birmingham, AL. Copyright 1999

    Story Behind the Song
My World is about the ever evolving state of personal existence and how it changes from day to day. We're really never safe and life is never fair.

This song came into being while Jeff was reflecting on his life and the current state of his world.
After writing the lyrics and chord progression, the basic tracks were recorded in one evening. Curt later added the guitar lead tracks (3!) and sound effects.

    Lyrics
You know I think it's time for a change
The things that's been goin' down
    Something just ain't right
Why can't we just all get along?
    Someone said that before

That's how it is in my world
That's how it was in my world
Life's not so bad in my world
So come and join me in my world

    Whatcha shootin' at dog?
    I thought we were friends
I guess you really don't know what that means
I know the time that we used to play
    Out back in that lot
Some of them didn't play at all
    Others just stared a lot
    Some stayed where we were
And some just left and cut off their hair

    "To serve and protect"
    It's painted on that car
    Rollin' down the street
I know what he's lookin' for

    What's tommorow gonna bring?
    Will my son grow old?
I want us all standing here
    And to always live together
