    This song attempts to relate how the 'unsung heroes' of war are the ones nobody knows. History records the famous; not so fondly are the 'unknowns' remembered. The history related within the song is all true to the actual events. The 'unsung' heroes are now, 'sung about.' This is a true Folk song, written, sung and performed with that style of music in mind. It has been referred to as a 'rallying song' during the present war on terrorism by the Amercian and Canadian radio stations, which have played it
    CD: unreleased: title pending   Label: unassigned: not signed as of yet--but we are hopeful. ;-)
    Credits: Peak Recording Studio--Gary Mann (Eng./Friend). All of the fallen heroes of American wars.

    Story Behind the Song
    The 'unsung heroes' of American wars: the average Joe, were the 'motivation' to write this song.
    There is little mention of them in Amercian history: we all seem to recall Washington crossing the Delaware,
    but we forget (as does history) that there were other soldiers in that boat during the war: The 'unsung heroes' nobody knows.
    The lyrics are true to their mentioned history--and the music holds fast to that mood.
    The song was written in two (2) days--comtemplating these 'unknowns' of past and future wars.
    This is the first take of two. Recorded in the truest sense of Folk music and Folk music 'feel.'
    Call it the , "Blowin' in the Wind," song of 21st century.

    SOS Down in Waco

    (An American Folk Song)

    By

    Jason Leigh (c) 1998

    1. When Washington crossed the Delaware: he didn't stand alone!

    There were scores of mighty 'Minute Men,' who froze to the bone.

    Then the 'Yankees' fought the 'Rebels' in, America's Civil War!

    They were nameless men nobody knows, but they live forevermore.

    * go to chorus

    Chorus:

    There's an 'SOS' down in Waco!

    There's a dee-stress, everywhere we go.

    But, nobody gives a damn, if you fought in Vietnam.

    There's a dee-stress, everywhere--we go.

    2. The Kaiser over Germany, he started the first World War!

    It was the cruelest 'war to end all wars,' they'd never seen before.

    Then Sergeant York, he made his mark!

    And they went on the Victory!

    But the nameless souls nobody knows, 'just numbers in history.

    * repeat chorus

    3. Hitler and his 'war machine,' had a 'master race' in mind!

    To genocide the millions, and to take all he could find.

    The A-bombs brought the mushroom clouds, it was hell across Japan!

    And the nameless souls nobody knows, God took 'em by the hand.

    * repeat chorus and end.
