	Story Behind the Song The pieces of inspiration for this tune came in short bursts over the course of several years. I wrote the chorus and first verse sometime in the late 90s, added the second verse a year or two later when I went back to my notebook and discovered I'd forgotten about the song. About a year or two later I did the same thing and wrote the bridge/outro part (which is interestingly enough based around a chromatic downward progression). I played the song once live by myself (as I often do with new tunes when the full band is on set break) and no one really made a big deal about it. So I put it away and it was forgotten once again until our former female vocalist, Lydia Ooghe, asked me months down the road "whatever happened to that song... Don't say Goodbye? Ive had it stuck in my head recently." So I dusted off its cobwebs, brought it back into the lineup, and now it's one of my favorite tunes... (A couple of additional notes: This song is interesting arrangement-wise becuase it starts on the chorus. It also doubles up the last line of each verse, which I think gives it a sing along feel, maybe like an old beer hall or something. It feels like an old story thats been passed down through the ages...).
