Story Behind the Song
The moral of this story is that monsters are not born, they are created. Usually, that creation takes place ealry in life; in this case, the catalyst is bullying.
Lyrics
Mirror Man
1/
Joey was always the new kid in class,
An outcast, he had no real friends,
Every day somebody kicking his ass,
He prayed for his torment to end
Suddenly, one day when Joey was ten,
A voice came from out of the blue,
The Mirror Man looked like him, spoke with his voice,
And told him what he had to do
Don’t get mad, don’t get even just get the motherfuckers (x4)
2/
The next day in school, Joey waited in fear,
For the bell at the end of the day,
And there, at the gates, as he made his way home,
The bullies were lying in wait
Joey was scared and he started to run,
Then the Mirror Man spoke in his head,
Follow them home, take them out one by one,
His message was simple, he said
Don’t get mad, don’t get even just get the motherfuckers (x4)
3/
The Mirror Man’s anger and thirst for revenge,
Took hold of the poor child’s mind,
And ten years later, the sickness had grown,
Leaving all the old Joey behind
He lived on his cell and he hated the world,
His folks were long dead in their graves,
But the Mirror Man stayed and he eased Joey’s pain,
And no-one would hurt him again
