Story Behind the Song
The motivation behind this song was the same old feeling of comfort in a relationship. No one wants to leave because it's so time consuming to start that arduous task of dating again, getting to learn someone all over and all that stuff. We became so acclimated to eachothes habits that it became menotonous and we wanted out but didn't want to be the first to break the others heart. Break up, back together, break up, back together and so on...
Lyrics
I never really understood the pain until you showed me another way. To hear the pitter patter of the rain brings sorrow, wondering about tomorrow. The minute I was left all by myself, Your name and your face was the image everytime I closed my eyes. I know you tried to realize how much I've tried. But three times is a charm and I'd reach for the sky but neither one of us want to be the first....
(chorus)
Neither one of us want to be the first to say goodbye, from all of what we've been through should we just give it one more try, believing in us I've seen the worst come day to night, from all of what we've been through is it enough to give it one more try at love.
every dialogue had complexities. such as times when we fought cause I didn't want guys getting close to you. But being so protective sure did pay the price, cause now I don't have my love just to hold on to. Every minute, every hour, I thought about the times when you showed how much you loved me. No one understands the way I feel, we constantly try, but neither one of us want to be the first...
(chorus repeat)
(bridge)
I hope you understand I need you so much and your touch takes me far away, to a place I'd love to go and stay. and dealing with the ways we end..(back again, wondering when) who will be the first of us to say.......
(end chorus)
