Story Behind the Song
This song was written on April 24, 1999. Travis, a very nice dog, died peacefully two days later. It was recorded in 2000 at Velvet Shirt in Chicago,, with Scott Bennett producing and John Pirruccello on Pedal Steel. W.C. Mericle actually did have a shard of metal fly into his eye while eating cheese enchiladas at Rebbecca's in Venice, California in the early 90's.
