Story Behind the Song
me(nic) and matt were hanging out at scott's, before the crowd came to be. scott said he wanted to play something funky, so he hummed a tune to me. i tried playing it, and he said good enough, and so we started playing. matt had nothing to do so we told him to play bongos. later when the crowd was a band and rikki had joined up, he played bass. it's mostly improv, with a few planned parts, like the vocals and such. the last chord i play i ripped off of 'battlestar scralatchtica' by incubus. the majority of what i play is just based on a jazz scale i read in 'guitar for dummies', plus some other notes that sound good. when we are playing this song we aren't the crowd. we become the children of the funk.
