	Story Behind the Song Recorded in 1999. This is the finished version of "End of the Beginning" and is the first piece I recorded on my fancy Akai digital hard disk recorder. The improvement in sound quality is considerable over my old Tascam 488 tape recorder. The first version of this piece has kind of a mutant ska vibe, but I streamlined the final version into a much heavier, more straight-ahead Satriani-ish thing. Even though I've subsequently gotten a lot better at digital recording, this one really jumps out of the speakers at you in a nice way.
