Lyrics
The Old Man.
He came in, nearly every night, and gave me a smile
I recall I hadn't seen him here in quite a while
He was always sitting there, when my shift began
That old man, the one I saw, there at table ten.
He'd come in, and sit right down, right next to the wall
Never looking or talking to anyone at all.
And for years he sat right there, in that very place.
He would never seem to change the look upon his face.
I remember the last time that he had come in
The old man, the one I saw, there at table ten.
He sat there in silence, too, not a word he'd say
what was wrong, he looked so sad.
sorrow came that day.
So, I gave to him a smile, and a silent prayer.
He just sat there all alone, with no one to care.
and I said good night to him
he gave me a grin
that was the last time I'd see
the man at table ten
