    Story Behind the Song
Actually I had worked with a band, "Windfield" and this was inspired by the feeling I had when listening to them and thinking about the sound of the music trailing across the grass on a windy day as the music is wafted on the wind through all the 5 senses. This is the song I opened with at "The Big Break" competition chosen by popular choice along with another piece from the 2nd CD "Siren Song." I have since gotten to sing this outside, just as I origianlly pictured it, at the Western Colorado Botanical Gardens. Wonderful!!!

    Lyrics
Spoken: Upon a windy field I saw the harper's tuing their lutes. I sat in the grass, oh so silently, awaiting the magic of sound. AT first there was only the fretted tones of notes trying to come to agreement, yet even that had beauty. AT last the harpers began to strum, the drummers began to drum and the music flowed sweetly over me like the rain on a warm summer's day.
Upon a windy field I lay on the grass so darkly greening. The music came and swept me up to the song the children sang. And when the music began to play the notes soon took their flight into the memory of that day of perfect sweet delight.

On the wings of sound I whirled away with the music's sweet perfume. Like a lover the sunshine kissed my face and swept across the tune.

Spoken: To the sound of the harper's wild playing I danced. In joy I danced. In sorrow I danced. With tears flowing down my face I whirled and I spun while the music carried me away.

As tears flowed down my smiling face I rose from off the land and joined the tune in wild, sweet joy as I whirled into the dance, as I whirled into the dance.

And when the music began to fade. The notes soon took their flight into the memory of that day of perfect sweet delight, of perfect sweet delight.

Upon a windy field I lay on the grass so darkly greening. The music came and swept me up to the songs the children sang. To the songs the children sang, and my heart with music rang.

Spoken: And when the music began to fade, it left me whispering sweet promises of more.
