Facing the pain, fear and loss of a loved one
CD: Suzanne Brindamour   Label: Splash Records

    Story Behind the Song
Fifteen years ago my mother died from cancer. She suffered for many months before she died and it was torturous for the whole family. It was years before I could express the pain I felt during that time. Finally, I was able to channel my fear and anguish surrounding her death in "Waiting in the Wings." I was tormented by questions that went unanswered. I wanted to know how she felt near the end and what she faced once she left this earth.

My mother had a beautiful singing voice which I took for granted. The chorus of the song reflects my regret over not telling her how much I loved her voice.

    Lyrics
One more word, one more touch
please don't leave me this way
Are you scared? Are there voices that haunt you inside...with those words you can't say?

    Let her soul sing.
    Hear her voice ring.
If she knew just how I loved to hear her sing...let her soul sing.

There's no time, see her rise
just one thing as you go
Are there ghosts or are angels waiting in the wings?
    see, I really must know.

    Let her soul sing
    Hear her voice ring
Does she know just how much I love to hear her sing. Let her soul sing.

Are you safe and at peace?
Wish I could say we're all fine.
Can you sleep and forget all the dreams unfulfilled
I still hold on to mine.

    Let her soul sing
    Hear her voice ring
Does she know how much I loved to hear her sing. Let her soul sing.
Hear her answering. Does she know how much.
