	Story Behind the Song This song is not to be confused with Iron Maiden's "Flight of Icarus" from the Piece of Mind Album. That song kicks ass, but this doesn't sound anything like that. I chose the name Icarus for the song before writing any lyrics, because the music reminded me of falling from a high place. Icarus, in mythology, was the son of Daedelus who was a master inventor. When they were both trapped on a mountain above the Labyrinth, Daedelus made wings for himself and Icarus to escape. He told his son, don't fly to high to the Sun or your wings will melt. As they flew, Icarus forgot his father's words and flew higher and higher until his wings began to melt and fall apart. He plummeted to his death on the open sea just beyond the Labyrinth's end.
