Story Behind the Song
I wrote this one in response to my personal reaction to the inner cities of Chicago and Uptown Minneapolis. In those two towns it seemed that the oply ethical motto was 'anything goes!' I was so effected by these experience that I became infected with legalism and guilt, eventually finding my way back through the advice of a guru of sorts (Glen!) I took those emotions and feelings and put them into a song. Recodred Winter 2002 usind a 4-Track, a PC and a microphone...DIY Music Rules!!! Enjoy.
Lyrics
I saw it in Chicago, I saw it in your eyes, I saw it in the ghetto and I saw it in disguise and I saw it playing poker with ol' Satan and his friends, I'm thinking it's the end, better talk to Glen.
Then I saw it heading Uptown and I saw it in the halls, I saw It run I saw it hide I saw it take the fall, and I spied it in your parlor, smoking reefer and drinking gin. I'm thinking it's the end, better talk to Glen.
Cause it'll clear your head, it'll stir your soul, it'll knock you out, it'll let you go, it'll hold your hand till it turns blue, it'll take you down to the hounds of hell, and it'll feel like heaven when it casts it's spell on you!
I saw it in the shifting sand, I felt it in your clammy hands, I heard it in the ring of Pavlov's Bell, I see it now when I go to bed and I hear it dancing in my head it's the end, better talk to Glen.
