    Story Behind the Song
While sitting in LA thinking about an ex-girlfriend in Atlanta, I was prepared to watch Dave Letterman at 11:30 PST. As I looked at the screen for the opening credits, I said to myself "Wow, It's 2:30 Where You Are) and thought What a great song title that would be!

    Lyrics
    It's 2:30 where you are
    Could you ever have imagined
    Thatwe'd be this far apart
With every single lonely passing day
    Memories become easier to erase
Yeah! An eye for an eye
Always brings a tear from ear to ear
What's the use of me shouting
It's too far for you to hear
    Three thousand miles
    It's really quite a ways

    Chorus:
Cause I'm waiting here for you
    Even after all the pain
You always put me through ~

    It's 2:30 where you are
    Still your blood red fingernails
    Keep tugging at my heart
Sometimes I wonder what's inside your head
    Once we had it all
Til you left me out for dead
So I try and I try
To make some sense of all these years
What you called the best thing in your life
    You watched it disappear
Three thousand miles is really quite a ways

    Repeat Chorus:

Yeah, an eye for an eye
Always brings a tear from ear to ear
What's the use of me shouting
It's too far for you to hear
    Three thousand miles
    That's really quite a ways

    Repeat Chorus:
