	Story Behind the Song What can I tell you that the title doesn't already say? Yes, this is a song about wanting someone in a very bad way! I tend to be a drama queen and get very intense at times and this song is a fine example of that. When I really want something, I will focus so much of my energy on the prize that I drive myself crazy. This song was inspired by an infatuation I had with, yes, my acupuncturist. I mean, either I'm totally twisted or I had to really like this guy because every time I saw him, he was sticking needles into my body! He didn't know about my feelings, or at least I didn't think he knew, but I was quite enamored. He was a friendly person and was quite flirtatious, but with a darker side to him too. We became friends, but it was so hard to read him, which further drove me insane. I wrote the music fairly easily, drawing upon my first Melissa Etheridge CD which was mostly acoustic guitar and a hell of a lot of passion. Melissa's "Somebody Bring Me Some Water" is still one of my all-time favorites. Along with the music, the words just came out. I sang what I felt, ignoring the voice of restraint and letting my feelings gush like Robert Plant would. When I sat back, alone in my room, and read what I had just written, I blushed! This was on the first demo CD and right before Steve (Zonce) and I recorded it, I did a quick re-write of the music just minutes before we laid the tracks down. Something told me to make the verses a little lighter and more fun, with a lilt. I wanted the chorus to be more driving in contrast. We wanted to add a full band behind it, of course, but we didn't have the time, plus I wanted something simpler amongst the other numbers. The vocals came out in the first take. This is one of my favorites on the CD. I kind of like it with just me and acoustic guitar - the raw physical and emotional agony comes through loud and clear.
