	The writer of this song (John Newton) was the captain of a slave ship. He is said to have heard the melody eminating from the slave holds below decks. Later in his life, he became a Christian pastor, and a staunch Abolitionist. It was at this time that he wrote many hymns, including "Amazing Grace". The rhythm track is based on African style ACID loops, so it has a nice beat that suggests African or World Music.
