Story Behind the Song
I went to this youth group and the youth pastor preached about how we've all sinned and we've all made mistakes but we need to leave our sins behind and repent. He then had us write some sins that we had commited, on an egg with a marker. After we were done writing on the eggs... we took them and through them at the wall. It was a symbol, a powerful symbol.
Lyrics
writing but one is so hard because they are so many.
thinking at night, i've broke them all. i've turned away.
opening ears, the lark is singing a ballad to bring me home.
mighty angel engulfs the woe of me, carrying me to fantasy.
transgressions on an egg.
my heart is out for all to see.
bitterness on an egg.
something screams inside of me.
the cold truth on an egg.
someone guide my dirty corpse.
yesterday on an egg.
break away...
setting eyes to the sky, hoping to find the Creator of Life.
staring into the crimson moon, still nothing but an empty room.
crying out to a soverign King, bowing down, worshipping Him.
in awe of this glory and this power that consumes the all of me
praises for the King.
transgressions on an egg.
my heart is out for all to see.
bitterness on an egg.
something screams inside of me.
the cold truth on an egg.
someone guide my corpse.
yesterday on an egg.
break, break, break
