Story Behind the Song
We wanted to combine the old style of verses chorus' and lyrics with the new style beats, rap and attitude. Life in our Alaskan boony town everyone knows everything everyone else is doing and it always seems like we all forgot to mind our own business.
The pressure is greater here because of the closeness of Village life. Seems like all the adults are against teenagers doing the same things they did when they were teenagers. Like all the parents teachers act like they were never teenagers. This song was just a way to vent and release some penned up anxiety of things like experimenting with whatever. Some things are really bad for you and even we teenagers know that. Everything seems to be illegal for teenagers and some of them shouldn't. Some things are illegal for adults and shouldn't be. Although Dave is about ready for a wheelchair, Josh is your typical Cocky teenager that knows everything. If you don't beleive it ask him anything. This song was written on the beach, on the road, in the attic of the Bowen Shark Clan House, In the bedroom of the Dybdahl Sea Lion Clan House. For one moon we wrote, watching for big white flashing horse. Seriously though, it took about seven days. It took us three nights to record it. And we did it over and over and over until the Chum spawn in our river.
