	Story Behind the Song written in the fall of 2001, reflecting back on summertime memories. probably my favorite song that i've written so far. Lyrics i remember watching fireworks blossom and shimmer on the summer night sky, gasping in moonlight, and secretly i wondered if i'd see ever again something so beautiful. it wasn't the way they twinkled, or the bright colors that shone but the way they could hold our amusement and make minutes seem like days. and the way you smiled wide when they lit up your eyes. if only that were my power. if only that were me. i sat that night with knees to my chest and wished, wished upon each burst as if it were a shooting star. wishing that the colors would paint for you me.
