Story Behind the Song
My daughter was sitting at the piano, practicing for her lesson. She and I decided to just indulge in some piano horse play. We were messing with the black keys only, enjoying the soothing pentatonics that result. I concoted a riff based on our little session. However, when I went to write a line to go over it, what I heard was a strange sort of tone row floating over the ostinato. I added counterpoint flugels under the line. The middle part breaks into a half time pop rock grove down a third. It goes double time and modulates culminating in a recap of the original theme.
The title, "Eternal Noon" is part of a philosophical sentiment that is important to me, essentially rejecting the notion of aging as having any real impact on who I AM!
